Vikings Draft History

The Minnesota Draft History Draft History  started in 1961 with the Vikings selecting Tommy Mason with the first overall pick in the 1961 draft. The next year the Vikings had the 30th pick due to a trade from the New York Giants and picked Bill Miller. The following year they had the third overall pick and selected Jim Dunway. Some other important draft choices are Robert Smith, Randy Moss, Daunte Culpepper and Troy Williamson. Some more iantmport draft choices are Chad Greenway, Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin, Joe Webb and Christian Ponder. But some bad draft choices that ended in busts are Troy Williamson, Keenan Howry and Moe Williams. But some draft successes are Randy Moss, Daunte Culpepper, Robert Smith, Fran Tarkenton, Adrian Peterson and Jim Marshall. Some draft picks that are in the hall of fame are Fran Tarkenton, Tommy Kramer, Chris Doleman, Randall McDaniel, Herschel Walker, and Cris Carter. But some important draft choices that were coaches are Jack Del Rio. But some picks that were great picks are Herschel Walker, Fran Tarkenton, Tommy Kramer, Cris Carter, Anthony Carter, Jack Del Rio, Chris Doleman, and Randall McDaniel. But some great picks that are playing now are Adrian Peterson, Randy Moss, Percy Harvin, Christian Ponder, Joe Webb, and Chad Greenway.
