Vikings History
The Vikings History started in 1961 when they were known as the Purple People Eaters because they had such defense which was ranked number one in the 60’s. Throughout their history they have always been the Vikings because they never changed their name. In the 47 year history of the Vikings they made it to 4 Super Bowls but have never won 1 in their history. During their history they have had 26 playoff appearances their record is 18-26 which is a .409 winning percentage. They have had 2 stadiums Metropolitan Stadium (1961 – 1981) and Humphrey H. Metro Dome (1982 – Present). During their 47 year period they have had 9 head coaches. They have 6 retired numbers and 16 Hall of Famers. They have had 1 coach of the year in 1969 Bud Grant. Their best season was 1998 (15-1) and 2 worst season including this year and 1984 (3-13). They have 2 mascots Ragnar and Viktor E. Viking. They have had 2 NFL MVP award winners Fran Tarkenton and Alan Page. Their colors are Purple, Gold, and White. They have had 4 Pro Bowl MVP Winners including Fran Tarkenton, Ahmad Rashad, Randy Moss, and Adrian Peterson. They have no Super Bowl MVP’s. Vikings History

  1. No matter what anyone says, the Vikings are not going to make the playoffs. They 're going to go in the same direction as the Metrodome's roof,down. Nice blog though, you know your stuff.
